Why I Practice Christian Yoga
I’m on a mission to help Christians confidently practice yoga while keeping Jesus at the center.
If you’ve ever wondered whether Christians can practice yoga, or you’re looking for a way to care for your body while staying focused on God, you’re in the right place.
Believe it or not, my yoga journey started with a library book.
Back in 2011, I stumbled across a yoga book while I was in high school, and I decided to give it a try. I loved how it made me feel. I felt stronger, more flexible, and more at peace. As my practice grew, so did my relationship with Jesus, and before long the two became something I couldn’t separate.
For me, yoga has never pulled me away from God. It’s always drawn me closer to Him.
My yoga mat has become a place where I pray, reflect on Scripture, slow down, and simply spend intentional time with Jesus. Through some really difficult seasons of life, those quiet moments of movement and prayer have reminded me that God is always with me.
Why I Teach Christian Yoga
That’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about helping other Christians feel confident practicing yoga.
I know there are a lot of questions and misconceptions out there, and I want this to be a place where you can learn, ask questions, and discover how movement can become another way to glorify God and care for the body He gave you.
My Yoga Training and Experience
In 2019, I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Michelle Thielen and Dana Moore, and I’ve been teaching Christian yoga ever since.
I’ve also always been fascinated by anatomy and the incredible way God designed our bodies. That passion led me to become a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 2018, and I also have a background in massage therapy. Along the way, I earned certifications in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Christian Yoga Nidra, and Christian Meditation.
My goal is to help you confidently practice Christian yoga through biblical encouragement, safe movement, and practical anatomy so you can care for your body while growing closer to Jesus.
Through this website, I share Christian yoga articles, beginner guides, movement practices, and resources to help you confidently get started.
Life Outside the Yoga Mat
When I’m not on my yoga mat, you’ll probably find me curled up with a good book, taking walks with my family, homeschooling my girls, or convincing my husband we need to do a mini weekend vacation.
I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope this little corner of the internet encourages you to draw closer to Jesus while caring for the body He created.
If you’re still wondering whether Christians can practice yoga, I’d love to help.
